As Coronavirus (COVID-19) is sweeping through our community, we wanted to provide you with a variety of ways to get involved.
JAMS is an after-school program that helps kids with their creativity through dance, film making, music, visual arts and provides a safe haven. This March, VyStar donated funds to help the teachers and provided visual arts supplies, two cameras, two film lighting set ups and two laptops. VyStar Credit Union, Community First Credit Union, 1-2-1 Credit Union, First Florida Credit Union and Jax Federal Credit Union have teamed up with Rethreaded by donating funds for their staff to make medical masks for St. Vincent’s (who has donated the supplies needed). We are happy to announce that we created two new positions for clients of Operation New Hope in the beginning of 2020. Additionally, we donated funds to support their efforts during the health crisis. With the release of incarcerated people to combat the spread of COVID-19, their clients will need services more than ever. The Food & Hygiene Pantry supports LGBTQ youth who may be homeless, in and out of the foster care system, or are in need of extra support and resources.
