Accidents happen. And if you use your debit/business debit card regularly, you know how easy (and scary) it is to misplace it. But finding yourself in such a common situation doesn’t mean you should have to worry about someone misusing your account while you’re looking for your card or waiting for a replacement. Fortunately, VyStar cardholders now have the option to download our new Card Control App, which gives you more control over the access to your card—and greater peace of mind.
After a one-time download of this app, which is a companion to the VyStar Mobile Banking App, you can easily manage the types of transactions you want to allow on your card, set transaction limits, and/or turn your card completely on or off. With the quick tap of your screen, you can temporarily disable your card to protect it from fraudulent charges if you think it’s been lost or stolen, and enable it again whenever you’re ready. Even if your card isn’t missing, you have the option to simply turn it off whenever it’s not being used. That way, you can rest easy knowing you’ve taken an extra proactive step to protect your card in case it ever does happen to fall into the wrong hands.
In addition to the on/off feature, the app also allows you to sign up for push alerts based on transaction amount, location, and merchant or transaction type, making it easy to keep an even closer eye on how your account is used. Plus, you can set spending limits on your card, which is a great tool for parents, business owners or anyone who simply wants to stick to a budget.
Downloading the VyStar Card Control App on your phone is an easy two-part process: You’ll have to first download the app, then add the information of the VyStar debit, business debit, Health Savings Account (HSA) or Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) card you would like to manage. After you download the VyStar Card Control App, you can access the Card Control functionality through the VyStar Mobile Banking App by clicking on “Manage My Debit Card.” For full step-by-step instructions on getting started with the Card Control App—as well as additional tips on how to turn a card on or off, set up controls and more—please visit our “Card Control App” page.
Remember: If your card is ever lost or stolen, the Card Control App is a great first step to take to shield your card from fraudulent activity. However, please don’t forget to immediately get in touch with us to report your missing card as well. You can easily do this by visiting a local branch or calling the VyStar Contact Center at (904) 777-6000 or 1 (800) 445-6289, option 2. A representative will be happy to help guide you through your next steps. To learn more about reporting a misplaced card, check out the “Report a Lost or Stolen Debit or Credit Card” page of our Protection Center.
