Manage Money in Internet Banking
With VyStar’s online Manage Money tool, you don’t ever have to lose track of your budget again! This convenient and easy-to-use Internet Banking feature helps you keep track of all your VyStar accounts, view how and where your money is spent, and create monthly budgets by category—all with just a few clicks of your mouse. You can also enjoy a number of other great features that make managing your finances easier than ever:
- Categorize your transactions using existing categories or ones that you create
- Set alerts related to the budgets you create
- Compare your budget month-to-month
- Flag and track tax-related transactions
- Create rules to memorize previously categorized transactions*
How to Use Manage Money
- Log in to Internet Banking.
- In order to use Manage Money effectively, categorize your transactions by viewing your transaction history. To do so, log in to Internet Banking, click on “My Accounts” and select the account you wish to view.
- Select the transaction you wish to categorize.
- Under the “Category” column, click on the word “UNCATEGORIZED.”
- Make a selection from the list of categories provided. You can drill down to specific types of categories by using the arrows next to the category name.
- If you do not see a category you prefer, select “Add a category.” You can add a category under any of the main category sections.
- When adding your own category, fill out the category name and an optional description, and check off the “Tax Related” box if the category is tax-related. Then click the “Add” button to add the category to your list.
- Once the category is added**, you can then use the category to classify your transactions, as described in Step 5.
- When you’re done categorizing your transactions, the information then automatically carries over to the Manage Money tool. To access the information, click on the “Manage Money” tab at the top of the Internet Banking screen.
- In the Manage Money tool, click on the “My Spending” tab to view an easy-to-understand pie chart that displays how much you have spent on each category that month. To view the pie chart for another particular month, just select your desired month from the drop-down menu below the pie chart, or click on the “Previous Month” or “Next Month” buttons.
- To compare your budget(s) month-to-month, click on the “Compare Budgets” tab.
- In the “This Month’s Budget” tab, you can create a budget by clicking “Add a category to your budget.” Here you can also view your current budgets, how much money you’ve spent in each budget category, and how much money you have left to spend in each budget category.
Using Direct Connect
Direct Connect is the service that provides the connection between your VyStar Credit Union account(s) and Quicken or QuickBooks. It allows you to manage your accounts right through Quicken and QuickBooks without the need to login to Internet Banking. We have made getting started easy. First, ensure you are enrolled in Internet Banking. You will use your VyStar Credit Union Internet Banking username and password to set up Direct Connect.

*The transaction description must match each transaction exactly for memorization to be effective. For example, if you go to several different chain restaurant locations, you will need to manually categorize each transaction, as the description value changes for each location.
**Only posted transaction can be categorized. Any transactions in a pending status, which are italicized, cannot be categorized until they officially post to the account.
